PV-A range DUAL output
In Car Entertainment (ICE) devices typically use connections to two components of the vehicle's electrical systems. One for the security system and one to turn the devices on and off.
The on/off function is controlled by the ignition switch so that the ICE device is turned off when the ignition key is removed, preventing the battery from draining. Commercial vehicle manufacturers also operate other 12-volt devices, such as cigarette lighters, on the same source as the car radio.
Some manufacturers require these devices to be switched off with the ignition, while others prefer them to remain switched on. Alfatronix has developed a range of converters for the ICE market that solves these configuration issues.
The Alfatronix converters replicate functions of the 12-volt battery and the 12-volt ignition using two outputs, both of which can deliver full power. One output is available when the 24-volt battery is connected. The other output is switched with the 24-volt ignition switch.
Now the IEC device can be connected to 24-volt DC just as easily as to a 12-volt DC.
Of course, the Dual Output Series can be used for a variety of applications where two outputs or one constant and one switched output are needed.
