In the event of a fire in a tunnel, the cable should remain functional for as long as possible. To keep the RADIAFLEX® cable attached to the wall for as long as possible, a special fire-resistant type of clamp has been developed. It also prevents the cable from coming loose from the wall and thus blocking an escape route. Fire-resistant clamps (RSB clamps) are made of metal and are fixed to the wall using metal plugs with screws. In the event of a fire, the round base melts. However, the fixing holds the cable in position and allows the cable to remain in service for as long as the cable itself allows. The recommended distance is 8 to 10 m (26 to 33 ft) for both types of installation.
