The Motorola Edge Node is a local gateway that provides three services - the Motorola Network Interface Services (MNIS), the Device Discovery and Mobility Service (DDMS) and the Motorola Gateway to LMR Network Interface (MGLN) - on a single platform.
The Motorola Edge Node, used with MOTOTRBO radio systems, ensures a secure connection to applications and services (Orchestrate) hosted in the cloud.
FEATURES/ADVANTAGES
Modern REST-based API suite
By providing the Edge Node endpoint that bi-directionally extends MOTOTRBO system/device data to the applications hosted in the MSI Cloud via a modern REST-based API suite, this data can be leveraged for their application products, creating new and compelling customer value.
Scalable Services
The cloud infrastructure on which the MGLN services run utilizes monitoring software so that overload situations can be detected and additional compute and storage resources can be provisioned to handle the increased load.
Extensible API
Device presence and location, individual/group messaging, device/conversation group area provisioning and more with the goal of developing new MOTOTRBO data services in this MGLN API suite.
Status Monitoring and Diagnostics (Roadmap)
The MGLN Diagnostics Service provides you with visibility by continuously monitoring the connection to the MOTOTRBO system network, radio traffic forwarded to MGLN, edge node connectivity and availability of MGLN services. It provides a real-time health dashboard, historical log storage and advanced traffic analysis reports to immediately detect service outages and resolve them quickly and effectively.
