FEATURES/ADVANTAGES
- This UHF rod antenna has been developed for use on board ships and on masts and covers the 450 MHz band in three versions.
- The 1" rotating nut mounting system allows the antenna to be mounted in the mast, in the auxiliary mast or on the crossbeam. It can even be easily mounted on the roof using Procom's "FLG" flange mount.
- The antenna is designed as a ½ λ construction, i.e. it requires no loading coils, ground plane, radials or other auxiliary arrangements.
- Note that the higher the antenna is mounted, the better the coverage.
- Avoid mounting the antenna parallel to or close to other metal parts such as masts, suspension cables, etc. It is preferable to mount the antenna unobstructed and as high as possible, as otherwise the VSWR and the radiation pattern will be affected.
- The antenna is an earthed radiating antenna and therefore has a DC short circuit via the coaxial cable.
- A conical fiberglass tube completely encloses the carefully designed radiating element to ensure long, reliable operation in all climates.
