Next generation modular controller (B=Box = wall-mounted housing)

The Cobra controllers are innovative, modular units designed to replace the older generation of H40 controllers. They offer a variety of new and improved features for existing and new products, as well as a higher level of security through the introduction of HTTPS and SNMP v3.

The simple plug-and-play functionality allows changes to connectivity features in the field without the need for reprogramming. Local, Ethernet, 2G, 3G and 4G connectivity is supported.

The front of the device now features an LCD display and navigation buttons that allow the operator to access useful information without having to connect remotely via a computer. This information includes details such as network configuration, active alarm status, software versions, etc.

The module can be reconfigured without having to send it in for reprogramming. Software upgrades can be carried out on site using various mechanisms. The necessary software can be transferred locally to the controller using an SD card.

 

Important note for planned replacement

In principle, the replacement is carried out as a 1:1 replacement. However, there is one exception:
When replacing a controller in an FO repeater (BSF), the controller in the corresponding OMU MK II must also be replaced to enable correct operation.

 

Notes on compatibility

Compatibility - functionality:

In principle, the controller serves as a replacement for previous H50 controllers for OMU and repeaters in 19'' housings. Previously used controllers with software version 2.x as well as older version 1.x can be replaced by this one. When replacing old devices with software version 1, please send us the details of the old device (model name, serial number, software version) for which you want to use the new controller and we will check the situation with the manufacturer.

 

Compatibility with PBE monitoring system AEM:

The controller is compatible with the current PBE Active Element Manager version 4.x.
The controller is not compatible with older, discontinued versions of the Active Element Manager (AEM), such as versions 2.x or 3.x.
