The BSF 2502 RM-2F-D is a fiber optically powered VHF repeater. The repeater is part of a system that is fed by a PBE Axell Optical Master Unit (OMU). The OMU couples the RF signals from a nearby base station and modulates the RF signals into optical signals that are distributed via fiber optic cable to one or more remote BSF repeaters. The maximum allowable optical loss is 10 dBo between the OMU and the furthest last remote unit supporting the OMU.

• These remote BSF repeaters can be installed up to 20 km from the base station site and offer great flexibility in providing RF coverage in areas where off-air reception is not a desirable or possible solution.
• The remote BSF repeaters demodulate the optical signal into RF and feed it into a Distributed Antenna System (DAS) or radiating cable to distribute the RF signal throughout the area to be covered.
• The high output power of the remote BSF repeaters means that fewer decentralized units need to be deployed, which reduces the investment costs for deployment.
